Elda (Gruhle) Gerner, 96 years, passed away in December 2007. She is survived by five children; Clyde, Kenny, Gordy, Ginny, and Marilyn, two daughter-in-laws, two sons-in-law, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She was the wife of Lawrence Gerner who preceded her in death.
Elda liked to crochet, play cards, and travel. She was a member of Home Makers and took pride in being Home Maker of the Year. She won prizes for quilts, crocheted items, and plants at the local county fair. Elda enjoyed gardening, canning and freezing. She enjoyed her family and visits from friends. Although her eyesight was failing her, she was able to know who walked through the door and something about them that amazed the family to know how she could do that. In high school, Elda was on the first girl’s basketball team in which she lettered in the sport. She is deeply missed by her family and friends.
